Ableton Live 12.1.10 Feb 25, 2025 |
New features and improvements: Native devices, including built-in Max for Live devices, are now sorted before plugins in search results. Move sends MIDI clock for both "MIDI In Only" and "MIDI Out Only". Max for Live parameter objects with their @active attribute set to 0 are now greyed out on Push, much like parameters in native devices. Fixed the following issues in the browser: Fixed a bug where the auto-completion suggestion would not be updated as more characters were typed in. Fixed a bug that prevented tags containing a space from being auto-completed. When filtering, the number of selected filters will now be displayed above the content pane. Live will now start up slightly faster. The "Clear" button visible above the content pane when searching or filtering in the browser has been replaced with an "X" button. The "+" button used for saving a custom label has been replaced with a bookmark button. A new Track.create_midi_clip function is exposed in the Max for Live API allowing the user to create empty clips in the Arrangement View. The function accepts two arguments, both floats, which indicate the start time and length of the empty clip. Update Core Library for 12.1 to r60939: Updated tuning files. New presets added from Note and Move Core Libraries. Improved tags for Core Library content. Bugfixes: Accessibility: Improved screen reader support and keyboard control in Auto Shift. Replaced the -inf value that represents negative infinity with the -∞ symbol. Fixed an issue where Live would temporarily freeze when entering the Hot-Swap mode in certain conditions. When playing high pitches, there is now less aliasing in Wavetable set to Hi-Quality mode. When editing parameters and chords in the Stacks MIDI Tool while it is inactive (e.g., when using the Envelopes editor mode), the chord pictogram now updates as expected. Fixed a performance regression that occurred when zooming into the Arrangement in a Set th |

New Features and Improvements Updated the design of the Hot-Swap Sample and Swap to Previous/Next Similar Sample buttons in Simpler and Drum Sampler. Drum Rack presets will no longer be excluded from the Sounds label. Additionally, Drum Rack and Drum Sampler presets tagged with "Sounds|..." will no longer be shown in the Drums label. Selecting a large number of track headers or tracks in the Session or Arrangement View is now faster. The Scale filter in Find and Select Notes is now available even if Scale Mode is turned off. Accessibility: Changed the Info View header for Help View's home button from "Lessons Start Page" to "View All Lessons" for an improved screen reader announcement. In Auto Shift, MPE pitch bend now uses a 48 semitones range. Items tagged with "Devices|Drums" will now be included in the Drums label as well. When browsing the All label, presets will once again be grouped into their respective devices. However, the grouping will be discarded when applying any filter, in favor of showing a flat list. The grouping will also be omitted when saving a custom view based on the All label. Improved filtering of devices and presets. A small arrow is now displayed next to a tag's name to indicate that the tag includes subtags. When clicking on a tag with subtags, the nested tags will be grouped along a yellow line. It is now possible to use the # symbol to search for all filters, including Content, Function, Format, and Creator. Significantly improved the frame rate when scrolling or zooming in the Arrangement when there are many clips and tracks. VST2 and VST3 plug-ins now use different icons in the browser. The different view modes in the Clip View's Clip Content Editor now use individual Info View descriptions. The context dictionary outlet of the live.miditool.in Max object now includes a "seed" value which should be used to seed random number generators that are used to determine a MIDI Tool's output. New Features: Auto Shift: Auto Shift is a new realtime monophonic pitch tracking and correction device with formant shifting, available in all Live editions. Its design makes it especially suitable for working with vocals but it can be used with any other monophonic signals. It is also possible to play and harmonize the incoming signal polyphonically via the MIDI sidechain. Auto Shift includes two modulation sources: a dedicated vibrato LFO and a multi-purpose LFO that allow you to modulate all important features of the device. When in MIDI mode, the device is capable of MPE modulation as well. The device also comes with Live Mode that you can enable to reduce latency. This can be particularly useful for live performances. Auto Shift supports both built-in scales and user-defined scales. Drum Sampler: Drum Sampler is a new instrument tailored to playing back one-shot samples in Drum Racks. It includes essential sample playing features such as sample start and length controls, an AHD amplitude envelope, Transpose and Detune controls, a filter section, and a number of playback effects which allow to time stretch and loop samples, apply frequency and ring modulation, layer a sub-oscillator or noise, add punch or degrade the sound. Drum Sampler's compact filter section allows you to select one of four filters optimized for playing back drum hits: 12 or 24 dB low-pass filter, 12 dB high-pass, or a simple single-band half-parametric EQ to emphasize or notch out a portion of the spectrum. Velocity or Slide in Drum Sampler can be used to modulate volume as well as an additional parameter that you can select, such as one of the envelope controls, filter or a playback effect. Drum Sampler can also be used as the new default for Drum Racks: to do so, simply right-click on a Drum Rack pad containing Drum Sampler and select "Save as Default Pad" from the context menu. Note that when a Drum Pad is selected, you can now simply double click a sample in the browser to load |
